Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi, has asserted that the Minority Caucus will not be intimidated by the current administration.
He emphasized that attempts to suppress the Minority through intimidation tactics will be resisted.
On April 9, 2025, NIB officials surrounded Rev. Ntim Fordjour’s residence in Spintex, Accra, aiming to detain him over allegations he made concerning two suspicious flights at Kotoka International Airport, which he suggested were linked to drug trafficking and money laundering.
Members of the Minority in Parliament, along with New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives, intervened, arguing that the NIB operatives lacked an arrest warrant and were not adhering to due legal procedures.
Speaking during an interview with Bernard Avle on Channel One TV’s The Point of View, on Wednesday, April 9, Oppong Nkrumah stated, “This point needs to be made strongly, this attempts to cow the Minority into submission that when you say something we will come for you, you have lost an election so keep quiet.
“We’re in charge, we have the power, we have Richard Jakpa raiding people’s homes, and after those raids, you don’t see any prosecution. It appears there’s an entire orchestration to put some state dominance over everybody.”
