Adutwum donates GH₵100k to traders

The Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has donated GH₵100,000 and 500 bags of cement to support traders affected by the recent fire outbreak at the Adum Bluelight Market in Kumasi.

The donation, made on Thursday, April 10, is aimed at helping the victims recover and rebuild their stalls after the fire destroyed the entire section of the market on Friday, March 21, 2025.

During his visit to the scene, Dr. Adutwum sympathized with the affected traders and urged them to remain hopeful despite the setback.

Speaking to the traders, he assured them of his continued support and encouraged them to stay strong for the sake of their families.

“God will come through for all those who have lost their only source of livelihood, especially those taking care of their wards. Keep being strong for your children, and they will make you proud in the future. We will also keep supporting you in the best way possible.

“I cannot come here empty-handed, so I’m supporting you with GH₵100,000. Additionally, I have 500 bags of cement for you as you work towards the rebuilding of the market,” he said.
