Veteran Yoruba movie star Ebun Oloyede, widely recognized as Olaiya Igwe, has expressed one of his deepest regrets related to an incident with gospel singer Tope Alabi. In a heartfelt interview on the Kasnastysugar1 YouTube channel, he disclosed that he declined to lend his car to Alabi for her wedding, a choice that has weighed heavily on him ever since.
Oloyede admitted his sorrow over the decision, stating, “One of my biggest regrets in life is that I refused to lend Tope Alabi my car for her wedding. Anytime I see her, I always find a way to apologize, acknowledging that my decision was wrong.”
His reluctance to lend the car stemmed from concerns that it might get stolen during the wedding. Ironically, just a week later, Oloyede found himself a victim of car theft.
Describing the terrifying incident, Oloyede recounted traveling to Ibadan with his wife and children when they were confronted by armed robbers. The attackers violently assaulted his wife, forced his children out of the car, and took Oloyede to a prayer ground.
“I was on the way to Ibadan with my family when the gunmen attacked us, beating my wife and ordering my children out of the vehicle,” Oloyede recalled, his voice heavy with emotion. “They took me to a prayer ground, asking me about the car’s fuel level before stealing it.”
