Many people have been wondering why Agya Kwabena, a popular face on UTV’s morning show, no longer appears regularly. According to a Facebook post by NPP member PK Sarpong, there is more to the story than meets the eye.
PK Sarpong claims that Agya Kwabena has been sidelined and now hosts a Saturday morning program instead of his usual weekday morning show. This new time slot is not very favorable, as it clashes with other TV shows that many Ghanaians already love to watch.
The post reveals that after the National Democratic Congress (NDC) came into power, Agya Kwabena allegedly started looking for a government appointment. He reportedly approached some officials in the Mahama-led government and lobbied for a position, using his support for the NDC on his show as a reason to be considered.
He is said to have told them that he often spoke in favor of the NDC and criticized the NPP on live TV. While those he contacted were still thinking about his request, his boss, Fadda Dickson, found out about the move and was not happy with it. This reportedly made the management at UTV realize that some of the complaints about Agya Kwabena being biased and acting like an NDC communicator were true. As a result, they decided to remove him from his popular weekday morning show and move him to a less popular Saturday morning slot.
PK Sarpong’s post seems to confirm suspicions that Agya Kwabena’s fall from the spotlight was due to political bias and unprofessional conduct.
