New Poll: Corruption No Longer Lives in the Presidency, It Has Moved Elsewhere – Mussa Dankwah

Ghana’s latest corruption poll has revealed a surprising shift—the presidency and government ministers are no longer at the top of the most corrupt institutions. Mussa Dankwah, reacting to the report, posted:
“The presidency and ministers/govt appointees drop in ranking of most corrupt public institutions in Ghana compared [to] 2024 Afrobarometer Report. New poll shows. More soon!!!!!”
While this might sound like progress, many Ghanaians aren’t buying it. Has corruption within the presidency actually decreased, or is this just a well-crafted PR strategy?
Over the years, the Afrobarometer report has consistently placed the presidency, ministers, and MPs among Ghana’s most corrupt figures. Their sudden drop in rankings raises eyebrows.
If their corruption levels have truly declined, where is the accountability? Have officials been prosecuted? Have stolen public funds been recovered?
Critics argue that this shift is not about real change but a result of worsening corruption in other institutions like the police, judiciary, and local government offices. Instead of fixing the system, corruption is simply being “rebranded” across different sectors.
Mussa Dankwah promises “More soon!!!!!”, but one thing is certain: Ghanaians need more than rankings—they need real action. Until government officials face actual consequences for corruption, the public remains skeptical about any supposed improvements.
