Ghana’s Parliament has approved a budget allocation of GH¢65,899,456.00 to enhance sports development across the country.
The approval, granted on Thursday, March 27, 2025, followed a motion tabled by Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza.

MPs backed the proposal, emphasizing the need for proper maintenance of sports infrastructure.
Daniel Nana Addo-Kenneth (MP for Okere Constituency) stressed that maintaining facilities is crucial for sustaining growth and nurturing young talents.
The budget will fund:
The development of a new sports policy.
The rehabilitation of some stadiums.
The establishment of a National Sports Fund.
Hon. Agbodza assured that the allocation will boost sports infrastructure and create opportunities for aspiring athletes.
