President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku and vice chairman of the Black Stars management committee, Stephen Appiah, travelled to France to meet veteran midfielder Andre Ayew.

Ayew has not been part of the Black Stars for a year despite his decent run of form in the Ligue 1 with Le Havre.

His absence has left Ghanaians with divided opinions, with some calling for his return while others claim his time with the Black Stars is over.

Black Stars coach Otto Addo disclosed that the decision to not invite Ayew to the Black Stars has to do with his preference of other players over the ex-Swansea star.

A decision that attracted a response from the Ayew family’s spokesperson, Fiifi Tackie, who described Addo’s position as disrespectful.

In the FA’s attempt to quench the unexpected tension between Andre’s camp and the Black Stars coach, Mr Okraku and Appiah met the forward in France for talks over his future with the national team.

Meanwhile, Ayew is having a good season with Le Havre and hopes to steer the club away from the drop zone.

Ayew will lead Le Havre on Sunday in their Ligue 1 game against FC Nantes.
