Honourable Kennedy Agyapong paid a courtesy visit to the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council in Kumasi. This was after he visited the PZ fire victims.
Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the former Member of Parliament for Assin Central and a 2024 presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), visited the victims of the PZ fire outbreak.
During his visit, Agyapong also attempted to make a cash donation to the market traders, hoping to offer support to the struggling community.
However, his gesture was met with strong opposition from the traders. The traders strongly advised against donating money to the market leadership, and instead requested for more practical support, such as the installation of street lights and enhanced security measures to safeguard their businesses and property.
After his interaction with the affected traders, the maverick politician visited the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council, where he and his team were warmly welcomed.
This was shared by Dr Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister, on his Facebook page.
The Ashanti Regional Minister expressed his gratitude to Honourable Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, stating that despite their political differences, the move by the former NPP MP is laudable.
He wrote, “Today, I received Hon. Kennedy Agyapong and his team at the ARCC as he came to offer support to victims of the Adum PZ fire.
Beyond politics and party lines, leadership is ultimately about doing what is right for our people, our region, and our country.
Thanks to the Honorable for the support and visit.”
