CEO of Ghana Digital Centres Left Disappointed After Entering Ho Office For The First Time

The acting Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Digital Centres, Dzifa Gonu and his deputy Ms. Adwoa Agyapomaa were left disappointed after they stormed some regional offices and saw the dilapidated state their infrastructure is.

Taking to his Facebook page, Dzifa Gonu expressed disappointment on how the New Patriotic Party government abandoned the rest of the nine regions but only focused on greater Accra. He promised to restore all ten digital centres to serve Ghanaians better.

“When President John Dramani Mahama commissioned the Accra Digital in 2016 to kickstart the digital revolution in West Africa, he ensured that each Region had a Digital Center so we had 10 Digital Centers across the country.

Unfortunately the government of Nana Addo decided to just occupy the Accra one and left the other 9 centres to lie idle leading some of them to rot away.

Yesterday, I and my deputy Ms. Adwoa Agyapomaa Ansong began a nationwide tour to see the state of the other centers under the Ghana Digital Centres to see how we can bring them to life and bring closer to our people digital hubs.

We started from Koforidua and then moved to Ho, in Koforidua we met the facility under the care of the Urban Roads and we were thankful to them for at least ensuring that the facility was in good condition.

But the story in Ho was heartbreaking my dear friends.

As you can see from these attached pictures this is the current state of what is supposed to be the Ho Digital Center

I have spoken with the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu and we are committed to putting the center back to full operational capacity for the benefit of the youth of Ho and its immediate environs.” He wrote.
