Ablakwa Cancels Two Transactions Initiated By NPP Gov’t To Sell Ghana’s Properties In Zambia And NG

The Ghanaian government has cancelled two transactions initiated by the previous Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration to sell diplomatic properties in Nigeria and Zambia. This was announced in parliament by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Samuel Okudzto Ablakwa with full backing from president John Dramani Mahama.

According to Samuel Okudzto Ablakwa, efforts are underway to recover an illegal part payment made in one of the transactions. Authorities have vowed to track down those behind the deal, who are reportedly on the run, and ensure they face the necessary sanctions.

Samuel Okudzto Ablakwa reaffirmed his commitment to protecting Ghana’s diplomatic assets, both within the country and across its 71 missions abroad. A firm warning has been issued against any attempts to purchase these properties, emphasising that nome are available for sale.

He said the decision aligns with the principles of Operation Recover All Loot, as well as the government’s strong opposition to state capture and its dedication to national interests.

“Yesterday I informed Parliament that with the full backing of President Mahama, we have cancelled two transactions initiated by the previous Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government to sell Ghanaian diplomatic properties in Nigeria and Zambia.

Determined efforts are underway to retrieve an illegal part payment in one of the transactions. The masterminds, who are currently on the run will surely be found and sanctioned.

We mean it when we say no diplomatic property belonging to the people of Ghana would be sold under our watch.

Notice is hereby served that none of our diplomatic properties either in Ghana or any of our 71 diplomatic missions abroad are available for sale — hands off!

The principles of ORAL, strict abhorrence for State Capture and the national interest shall continue to guide our decisions. For God and Country.
