Lands and Natural Resources Minister Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah has revealed that over 60 individuals have been arrested in the ongoing fight against illegal mining, known as galamsey.
Speaking on The Point of View on Channel One TV on Wednesday March 26, Buah emphasised the government’s commitment to ensuring that those apprehended face the full force of the law.
“I think the last time we talked about arrests, we talked of over 60 something. I am not sure of the number, but we’ve arrested many people,” Buah stated.
He assured Ghanaians that the Attorney General is actively handling these cases to ensure due process and appropriate punishment for offenders.
