Mahama govt in power to kill businesses

The Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has criticized the Mahama administration, accusing it of being on a path to collapsing businesses in Ghana.

He asserted that the government lacked clear plans for job creation, support for fisherfolk and farmers, and private sector development.

Afenyo-Markin further alleged that the Mahama administration is just focused on persecuting political opponents and dismissing public sector employees.

Speaking on the floor of Parliament during the 2025 Budget debate on March 25, the Minority Leader said, it is very clear that the current administration is only interested in propaganda politics with no clear plans for the people of Ghana.

“They came into government with no clear plans to create jobs. They came into office with no clear plans for the fisher folks of our country. They came into government with no clear plans for the farmers of our country. They only came to persecute, arrest political opponents and deny them their basic fundamental human rights.

“It is clear that this government came into being to kill private sector initiatives. It’s the reason why they are unable to tell us a single initiative for the private sector. What is the work of the Trade Minister? They say they have an advisor for the 24-hour economy. What is his work?”
