The home of the immediate past Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Ernest Addison, was reportedly raided by National Security Operatives on Wednesday, March 19.
The raid reportedly occurred around 5 a.m. at his home in Roman Ridge in Accra.
According to myjoyonline, about 15 soldiers brandishing rifles raided the residence just before sunlight.
They are alleged to have disabled CCTV cameras on the premises before ransacking the residence in search of ‘vaults’ they believe were hidden there.
Following the search, the National Security team confiscated some vehicles from the residence before later leaving them around Joker’s in Labadi and calling Dr Addison to retrieve them.
Following the raid, Minority leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, paid a visit to Dr Addison at his residence.
Sharing photos from his visit on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote: “I visited the former Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Ernest Addison, whose house was raided by National Security operatives led by Richard Jakpa,”
Netizens, in reaction to his post, expressed no sympathy with Dr Addison, hinting that he has questions to answer.
“He needs to be jailed. He is a criminal,” one netizen wrote.
