Twenty-six members of di Rivers Assembly raise di allegation for two letters wey dem send to di speaker Martin Amaewhule
Dem say di action dey “in compliance with Section 188 of di Constitution of di Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended) and oda extant laws” wey mandate say such allegations go dey signed by at least one-third of di House members and specify di particulars of di misconduct.
Do letters wey dey signed by di 26 lawmakers bin dey presented during Monday plenary session in compliance with Section 188 of di Constitution of di Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), 1999.
Di Speaker dey required to ensure say di notices dey served on di office holders and all members of di House within seven days of receipt.
Reckless spending and oda allegations against Governor Fubara, Deputy Governor
Di allegations give five specific instances of gross misconduct, dey detailed in separate notices addressed to both di governor and di deputy governor.
Di lawmakers accuse Fubara among oda things of reckless and unconstitutional expenditure of public funds, hindering or obstructing di Rivers State House of Assembly wey be anoda arm of di goment, and di appointment of pesins to occupy offices/positions in di Rivers State Goment without allowing di requirement of screening and confirmation.

Upon receipt of di notice, Amaewhule transmit same to Governor Fubara and say di allegation dey raised by “not less than one-third (1/3) of di membership of di Rivers State House of Assembly”.
Speaker Amaewhule ask Fubara to reply to di allegations against am wey dey di ‘Notice of Allegations of Gross Misconduct’ accordingly”.
“To do dis, your attention dey drawn to di provisions of Section 188(3) of di Constitution of di Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), wey provide thus:
’Within 14 days of di presentation of di notice to di Speaker of di House of Assembly (weda or not any statement made by holder of di office in reply to di allegation contained in di notice) di House of Assembly go resolve by motion, without any debate weda or not di allegation go dey investigated’,” na so di speaker tok for di letter e send to Govenor Fubara.
