We can only wish Dampare well

The Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has extended his best wishes to the former Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, following his removal from office.

Speaking on The KeyPoints on TV3 March 15, Mr. Ofosu highlighted that Dr. Dampare still has a bright future ahead, given his extensive professional experience and the fact that he has not yet reached retirement age.

“We can only wish Dampare well and thank him for his services. With his experience, he remains valuable and should be in high demand in other areas where his expertise is needed. This is a routine leadership change,” he stated.

On Thursday, March 13, 2025, President John Dramani Mahama removed Dr. George Akuffo Dampare from his position as Inspector General of Police (IGP).

COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno was appointed as his successor and sworn into office on Friday, March 14, officially assuming his role as the new head of the Ghana Police Service.
