Renowned Ghanaian journalist Kofi Adoma Nwanwani has expressed his disappointment in Angel Broadcasting Network’s CEO, Vincent Opare, over how he was treated following his near-fatal eye shooting incident in Dormaa.
In an emotional revelation, Kofi Adoma shared that he continues to struggle with the traumatic effects of the attack, experiencing distressing visions that prevent him from sleeping properly. He recalled inquiring whether Dormaahene had reached out after the incident, only to be told that he would visit after the festival. “I could have died,” he lamented.
Addressing the matter, Kofi Adoma accused Vincent Opare of prioritizing the Angel brand over his well-being. He criticized Opare for publicly discussing the financial assistance provided to him while failing to acknowledge the severity of his condition and the real cost of his medical treatment. “I heard he granted an interview telling Ghanaians about the support his company gave me. I was very sad. Today, your company brand is more important to you than my life. You don’t care about what happens to me,” he stated.
He, however, expressed gratitude to business mogul Dr. Kwaku Oteng, who provided financial support without requesting medical documents. He explained that due to the overwhelming medical expenses, they had to seek additional help. Nana Yaa Brefo, upon seeing his condition, reached out to Ibrahim Mahama, who not only pledged assistance but also mentioned that he could have sent a private jet to transport Kofi Adoma from Dormaa to Accra had he been contacted earlier. Ibrahim Mahama later requested his account details to provide further financial support.
Despite the enormous medical costs, Kofi Adoma lamented that Vincent Opare was publicly claiming they had supported him while he was still struggling to secure funds for his treatment.
This, he said, was deeply disappointing.
