The Acting Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), Sammy Gyamfi, has stated that the 2025 Budget and Economic Policy of the government has left the New Patriotic Party in a state of shock, making them speechless.

Speaking in an interview on TV3, and monitored by GhanaWeb on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, he accused the NPP of engaging in theatrics to hide their surprise of the transformative policies outlined in the budget.

“They (NPP) are completely dumbfounded by the details of this budget. They have been totally silenced. But they just have to put up some theatrics to ginger their party base.

“Yesterday, I was sitting in the gallery, I saw some of the MPs, I saw the look on their faces. It was like oh no. Stephen Amoah stepped out even before Ato Forson concluded the delivery of the statement and he didn’t come back into the chamber,” he stated.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment of fulfilling its 120-day social contract with Ghanaians.

“They could not believe that the NDC could introduce these far-reaching policies and fulfill 99.99 almost 100% of the promises contained in our 120-day social contract, including promises that we did not even make,” he added.

On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, the finance minister, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson presented the 2025 Budget and Economic Policy in Parliament, outlining key financial and policy decisions aimed at stabilising the economy and improving the welfare of Ghanaians.
