The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has called on lecturers of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) School of Medical Sciences to call off their ongoing strike and return to work.
The commission emphasised the need for continued academic activities to ensure minimal disruption to medical education and healthcare training.
This comes after the lecturers at UCC’s School of Medical Sciences initiated an indefinite strike, citing persistent challenges related to promotions and career advancement at the institution.
However, GTEC in a statement, acknowledged the concerns raised by the lecturers but urged dialogue as the best approach to resolving the issues at hand.
The commission assured all stakeholders that efforts are being made to address the grievances in a manner that supports both faculty members and students.
