A fresh political controversy has erupted after NPP’s PK Sarpong accused Minister for Communications and Digitization, Sam George, of deliberately spreading false information. He told Sam George to resign immediately for spreading false information.
PK Sarpong made a post on Facebook on Tuesday, 11th March, 2025 and described Sam George as unfit for his position, questioning his credibility and commitment to fighting misinformation.
It all started when Sam George posted on Facebook, mocking his critics and suggesting that certain individuals blame him for everything. He confidently stated that he is focused on delivering a digitally inclusive system for Ghanaians. However, what caught many people’s attention was his claim about reducing 38% to 14.5%. Many interpreted this as a jab at the NPP, suggesting that their support had drastically declined.
PK Sarpong wasted no time in hitting back, accusing Sam George of being a hypocrite. According to him, the minister has positioned himself as a fighter of fake news, yet he is guilty of spreading misinformation himself.
“He knows that the NPP didn’t get 38%, yet he has written that,” Sarpong wrote, exposing what he called Sam George’s dishonesty. He went on to argue that in any serious country, such a false claim would have cost Sam George his ministerial position. However, in “John Mahama’s Ghana,” he suggested that Sam George can say anything and get away with it.
Sarpong did not hold back in his criticism, describing Sam George as an “emotionally challenged” politician who lacks the mental strength to handle such an important ministry. He even mocked Sam George’s confidence, suggesting that he sees himself as “the wisest creature ever hand-formed by God Himself.”
