Prominent Ghanaian politician and academician, Professor Agyeman Badu Akosa, has called for the practice of politicians traveling abroad to seek healthcare to be abolished.
According to Professor Akosa, it is an insult to Ghanaian doctors and healthcare professionals for them to be bypassed by politicians who travel abroad.
He added that if politicians are forced to receive treatment here whenever sick, they would invest in infrastructure to keep our hospitals operating at maximum efficiency.
Prof. Akosa made these remarks during a recent interview in which he also tackled the issue of politicians and government appointees sending their children abroad to study there.
He said, just like healthcare, these leaders should be forced to educate their children in Ghana.
