I Left My Father’s Wealth And Ran Away From Home To Work At A Bread Bakery In Lagos

In a heartfelt interview shared on the YouTube channel of Biola Adebayo Ent, popular Yoruba movie actor Isiaq Sanusi opened up about the arduous journey he undertook to pursue his passion for acting.

His story reveals a profound dedication to his craft, showcasing the lengths one would go to achieve their dreams.

Sanusi disclosed, “I left my father’s wealth and ran away from home to work at a bread bakery in Lagos,” highlighting the sacrifices he made in pursuit of his ambition.

Despite having the financial backing of a wealthy family, he felt the need to distance himself from his comfort zone to follow his true calling.

Initially, Sanusi lived with his stepmother in Lagos, who did not support his desire to become an actor. In contrast, his brother, who had studied mass communication, championed his dream.

He worked alongside his brother in the telecommunication sector, where he saved money with the aim of enrolling in filmmaking courses.

However, the challenge of financing his education loomed large, with a course fee of fifteen thousand naira standing as a barrier.

To bridge this financial gap, Sanusi turned to a local bakery for work, facing skepticism from his boss due to his young age and slight build. Despite the challenges, he persisted, managing to raise enough funds to pursue his passion for filmmaking.

His experiences in the bakery were marked by a tough reality, as his boss often assigned him a derogatory nickname, a stark reminder of his humble beginnings.

However, through hard work and resilience, Sanusi not only managed to enroll in filmmaking but also embraced the nickname as a part of his identity.

His journey resonates deeply as a testament to tenacity and the relentless pursuit of one’s dreams, regardless of one’s starting point in life.
