Turmoil in NDC as executives fight among themselves over missing 200 bags of rice seized from former MP

A political dispute has erupted within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Kintampo South Constituency of the Bono East Region, as at least 16 assemblymen have petitioned the party’s leadership to take action against Regional Chairman Unas Owusu and three other executives.

According to myjoyonline.com report, the assemblymen accuse Unas Owusu and the constituency executives of orchestrating the kidnapping, brutal assault, and torture of a party member, Alfred Agandaah Atewene, also known as Tutu, on February 19, 2025.

According to the petitioners, Tutu’s only offense was questioning an unexplained disappearance of 200 bags of rice, allegedly part of 600 bags seized from former Member of Parliament Alex Gyan.

The accused constituency executives include Robert Sakyi (Slimmer), Chairman, Wilfred Zuuri, Secretary, and Atanga Matthew, Communication Officer.

The report explained that Alfred Agandaah was reportedly hospitalized after suffering serious injuries from an alleged abduction and assault.

He claims he was forcibly taken by four men, bundled into a vehicle, and driven into a bush, where he feared for his life.

Agandaah has pointed to Unas Owusu as the mastermind behind the attack. However, according to myjoyonline.com when Unas Owusu was contacted, he denied any involvement in the alleged crime.
