Veteran journalist Kwesi Pratt Jnr
Veteran journalist Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has denied widespread rumors that he has been appointed as a staffer at the Office of the Vice President.
Addressing the speculation during an interview on Peace FM on March 4, 2025, Pratt clarified that he had not received any appointment.
He explained that the circulating pictures were taken after his guests, whom he had hosted for a public lecture, requested to pay a courtesy call on the Vice President, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.
Pratt further elaborated that he had merely accompanied his guests to the Vice President’s office and was later surprised to see false claims about his appointment spreading on social media.
“I went to the Vice President’s office after a lecture on Ghana’s Day of Shame, a very important lecture on February 24, 2025. The guest lecturer was the Chief Executive of the Guancha Syndicate, Dr. Li Bo, who was accompanied by two of his special assistants from Fudan University.
“They wanted to call on the Vice President, and as their host, I led them to her office. A few minutes later, pictures were all over social media, claiming I had been appointed as a Special Communications Advisor to the Vice President. What is this? This must stop,” he clarified.
His comments follow the circulation of pictures showing him with some foreign nationals at the presidency.
The images, which recently flooded social media, fueled speculation that he had been appointed as a Special Communications Advisor.
