The Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr. Johnson Asiama, has revealed that furnishing the central bank’s new headquarters will cost $11 million.

He further disclosed that the integrated electronic systems for the building have been budgeted at $15.8 million.

While addressing Parliament on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, Dr. Asiama explained that contracts for the Bank Square’s construction were awarded separately from other infrastructural components, including ICT systems, electronic systems, and furniture.

“Mr. Speaker, beyond the core building, separate contracts were awarded for other infrastructure. These include ICT systems and network infrastructure at a cost of $8.6 million; integrated electronic systems at $15.8 million; and furniture and furnishings at $11.1 million,” he stated.

Dr. Asiama also provided a financial breakdown of the Bank Square project, noting that approximately $230 million had been paid as of February 2025, with an outstanding balance of $31.8 million yet to be settled.

The Bank of Ghana officially inaugurated its state-of-the-art headquarters, Bank Square, on November 20, 2024.

Located in the heart of Accra, this architectural marvel was designed by renowned Ghanaian architect Sir David Adjaye.
