A chilling CCTV video released by GhPage has unveiled the harrowing details surrounding the tragic death of Yabane Deladem Aku, a final-year Biological Science student at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). The footage allegedly shows her boyfriend, identified as Daniel Tuffour, committing the heinous act.
The video captures the couple walking together after their night studies, engaged in what appears to be a heated argument. The tension escalates when Aku slaps her boyfriend during the altercation. In a violent retaliation, Tuffour punches her in the face and then proceeds to press his knee forcefully against her neck, ultimately leading to her death.
Disturbingly, after committing the crime, Tuffour is seen behaving as though nothing had happened, continuing with his normal activities on campus. However, his actions did not go unnoticed, as police investigations later led to his arrest at an examination center.
The Ghana Police Service, in an earlier statement, confirmed that Aku’s body was discovered behind the Central Laboratory at KNUST. A medical team from the KNUST Hospital pronounced her dead at the scene before her body was transferred to the hospital morgue for further examination. Police investigations revealed visible marks of violence on her body, confirming that foul play was involved.
The Inspector-General of Police has assured the public, particularly the family of the deceased, that justice will be served. The KNUST community has been plunged into mourning, with many students expressing profound grief over the tragic loss of their colleague.
Investigations into the incident are still ongoing, and the police have urged the public to remain calm as they work to uncover further details. Updates on the case are expected as the investigation progresses.
