Asante Kotoko to use Baba Yara Stadium for Legon Cities game

Asante Kotoko remain confident about playing their upcoming Ghana Premier League fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium despite reports that the venue has been deemed unsuitable by authorities.

A club source, in a report by 3news, dismissed concerns over the stadium ban, stating that they are yet to receive official communication.

“We are not aware of this news. We are preparing to host Legon Cities at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, and that is where our focus is.”

The uncertainty surrounding the Baba Yara Stadium follows a recent safety and security assessment, which reportedly listed the venue among several others as unfit for use.

Despite the reports, Kotoko’s preparations for their next league game remain unchanged as they gear up to face Legon Cities this weekend.

The Ghana Premier League, which went on an abrupt break, is set to resume with Matchday 23 on the weekend of Friday, March 7 to Monday, March 10, 2025, according to the GFA.
