Beijing, Feb. 28, GNA – The Chinese Government says it remains committed to promoting cultural diversity, diplomacy and cooperation for shared development and growth.

Mr Yu Lei, Director of the China International Press Communication Center (CIPCC), said the agenda was to foster shared future for mankind to enhance the cause of humanity.

The future of humanity ought to be decided by all countries together, he emphasised, during a briefing of participants of the China-Africa/Asia Pacific/Eurasia/ Latin America and the Caribbean/Arab States/Central and Eastern European Countries Press Center 2025 Programme, in Beijing, China.

This was imperative to enhance coordinated development and win-win cooperation which were key to addressing the challenges confronting the world in contemporary times, he added.

“The People’s Republic of China believes there is the need for unity of purpose and peace amongst people across all regions for prosperity and progress as espoused by President Xi Jinping.”

On the economic front, in response to the pressing need for enhanced development in many countries, China has announced eight actions for global development, which include solid steps to deepen high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.

According to the Chinese authorities, to date, some 155 countries have participated in the Belt and Road cooperation, and that, trade between the Asian giants and these countries grew by 6.4 percent in 2024.

The CIPCC 2025 Programme, lasting about four months, is being organised under the auspices of the China Public Diplomacy Association (CPDA), bringing on board some 50 journalists across the globe.

The topics to be discussed centre on China’s diplomatic mission and international relations, socio-economic development, diplomacy, culture, science and technology, as well as democracy.

As part of the programme, the organisers will provide the participants with training on journalism and internships in China’s media, hold symposia with relevant governmental departments, enterprises, and think tanks.

Building on the successes of previous events, this year’s programme seeks to build the capacity of the participants for the emerging trends in journalism, taking into consideration the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its responsible use, as well as the future of the media landscape within the purview of the advancement of Science and Technology.

Over the years, the Chinese Government has sought to promote international relations, especially amongst developing countries, providing the needed logistical and technical support to foster the work of the media.

In respect of the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the first news agency to be established in sub-Saharan Africa, the Asian giant has provided training and technical support over time. There are also news exchange partnerships with some major media organisations.

Mr Yu, in welcoming the participating journalists at the 2025 CIPCC Programme, urged them to take the lessons to be discussed seriously, while the organisers facilitate their work.
