Nestlé Ghana unveils new NIDO packaging: A strong commitment to nutrition & sustainability


Nestlé Ghana Limited has unveiled its newly redesigned packaging for NIDO, a cherished milk powder brand that has been nourishing families across the country for generations. This initiative highlights Nestlé’s commitment to providing nutritious product offerings and its ongoing efforts to minimize environmental impact.

The repackaged NIDO®, comes with a visually appealing look and an easier to recycle plastic. The effort to simplify the material used in the packaging for seamless recycling is part of Nestlé’s commitment   towards reducing waste and minimizing environmental impact.

The NIDO®, packaging also displays the key nutritional information, including the iron content, to ensure that consumers and caregivers are aware of the specific nutrients NIDO®, is fortified with and its benefits. The information on the packaging, will empower parents and caregivers to make informed choices about their child’s nutrition by choosing NIDO.

“We are excited to present the new NIDO®, packaging, which reflects our values and commitment to the environment and the communities we serve,” said Gilbert Tweneboah-Koduah, Category Manager, Dairy at Nestlé Ghana.

“NIDO still has the same nutritious and creamy taste loved by our consumers. It is enriched with iron and essential minerals required by the human body, especially for children as it aids in their cognitive development, learning abilities, and overall growth”, he added.

In addition to the new packaging, Nestlé Ghana is actively involved in various sustainability initiatives, including waste management programs and the adoption of renewable energy sources within its operations.

Corporate Communication and Public Affairs Manager, Deborah Kwablah, said the company recognizes the importance of promoting a cleaner and healthier environment for the well-being of future generations, hence the adoption of sustainable practices to minimize the environmental impact of its process and packaging.

In her speech, Salome Azevedo, the Business Executive Officer for Beverages and Dairy in the Nestlé Central and West Africa region, emphasized that the brand is committed to highlighting how certain prevailing values today will be essential in empowering children to drive meaningful and positive transformations in the future.

Nestlé Ghana encourages consumers, partners, and stakeholders to join in this sustainability journey and support initiatives that foster responsible consumption and effective waste management.
