NPP Bono Regional Chairman Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC
The National Investigation Bureau (NIB) has summoned the Bono Regional Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC.
A letter issued by the Bono Regional Commander of the NIB indicated that Abronye was summoned over an allegation he made against President John Dramani Mahama.
According to the letter, which was addressed to the NPP regional chairman, Abronye accused the president of hoarding approximately GH¢550 million meant for former appointees at the seat of government.
He also alleged corruption in the revocation of appointments made by the previous administration.
The letter stated that Abronye is to report to the NIB office in Accra on February 26, 2025, to assist with the investigation into his allegations against President Mahama.
“I have been instructed by the Director of Investigations of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) to invite you to meet him on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM at KAWUKUDU in the Greater Accra Region to assist the Bureau in investigating the allegations you leveled against His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama.
“In the said allegations, which you made during an interview on Movement in the Morning, a breakfast show on Movement TV hosted by Kwaku Dawuro, you, Kwame Baffoe @ Abronye, claimed that President John Dramani Mahama is hoarding five hundred and fifty million Ghana Cedis (GH¢550,000,000.00) intended for dismissed appointees at the Jubilee House. You further accused the administration of corruption in the recruitment and revocation processes,” the letter stated.
