Haruna Iddrisu Attends 72nd Anniversary Of Ketasco, Promises To Improve Education In Ghana

Honourable Haruna Iddrisu, the Education Minister, has attended the 72nd anniversary of the Keta Senior High Technical School in the Volta Region.

The anniversary, scheduled to take place from Friday, February 21 to Sunday, February 23, is aimed at inspiring future generations with past experiences. It brought together thousands of students who have attended the iconic school.

The theme for the celebration is “Harnessing Our Legacy and Inspiring the Future.”

In a Facebook post, Haruna Iddrisu, who was the guest of honour for the event, expressed his excitement about taking in the milestone celebration of the school.

He expressed his commitment to enhancing the education sector of the country by creating an enabling environment for both students and teachers.

He wrote, “Today, I attended the 72nd-anniversary celebration of Keta Senior High Technical School as the special guest of honour.

The theme for my speech was to Bridging the Generational Gap: Harnessing Our Legacy and Inspiring the Future. 

My special focus was on the Future of Education in Ghana, Innovations and Reforms.

I intend to make my leadership and vision for the educational sector invaluable to students, teachers and schools.”

As Minister of Education, Iddrisu has been tasked with addressing key educational challenges, particularly the growing concerns surrounding the implementation of the Free SHS policy.

He is expected to take a results-oriented approach, prioritizing solutions to critical issues such as access to quality education, teacher welfare, and curriculum reform.

Additionally, he will oversee the implementation of the government’s commitment to providing free tuition for first-year university students, among other educational initiatives.
