‘2PM,’ a notorious Kumasi-based armed robber, has narrated the ordeal he suffered at the hands of Commissioner of Police (Retired) Kofi Boakye following his arrest several years ago.
In a viral video clip sighted by GhanaWeb on TikTok, the reformed criminal recounted how he was confronted by police officers led by Kofi Boakye, who was then the Ashanti Regional Commander of the Ghana Police Service.
He recalled that upon arriving at the police station, the retired Commissioner of Police, now the Director of Operations at the Office of the President, subjected him to severe beatings.
“When I got to the police station, he (Kofi Boakye) called me three times… He took a cane from his wardrobe and gave me a few lashes. I thought that was it, but all of a sudden, I received a mighty slap on my right cheek.
“The slap made me partially blind in my right eye. I sat down, and he started calling my name again ‘2PM’ but this time, I could not respond. I couldn’t lift my head, and he was laughing at me,”* he recounted.
He added, “Swelling started in my right eye. It swelled until my eye was completely shut.”
‘2PM’ further revealed that the abuse did not end there, stating that a severe blow to his stomach caused him to lose control of his bowels.
“I thought that was it, but I didn’t know it was just the beginning. One of them (the police officers) hit me in the belly with a wooden plank, and instantly, I soiled myself. My trousers were filled with feces.
“Kofi Boakye was just laughing at me… They knew I was going to soil myself. If I hadn’t, they would have hit me again,” he said.
