CPC committed to meet National Chocolate Day demands

Tema, Feb. 12, GNA – The Cocoa Processing Company (CPC) says it is committed to meeting the huge demand for its Golden Tree chocolate and cocoa products for the celebration of National Chocolate Day cum Valentine’s Day. 

Nana Agyemang Ansong, the Sales and Marketing Manager for CPC, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said the National Chocolate Day initiative by the Ministry of Tourism slated for February 14 has brought a huge market for the company’s products, especially its chocolate bars. 

Nana Ansong said the day had become a key landmark for the CPC yearly, as that was the period that the company became more engaged, adding that sales on the chocolate day had supported its revenue performance over the two decades it has been marked in the country. 

He said, “The National Chocolate Day celebration has made us very responsible, as the celebration depends on us. We are very happy about it, and it requires that we can only expand to meet the demands.” 

He added that as the celebrations grow, the company would also have a big demand, leading to volumes of sales annually. 

“We are ready, committed, and passionate about the celebration. It is a celebration that we want to go global to make Ghana the chocolate hub of Africa, and we want to do all we can to stock up to make the celebration a reality,” he stated. 

Nana Ansong disclosed that they were producing on 24-hour basis to ensure that the products would be everywhere to help grow the sector, encouraging the public to visit shops and offices of the Cocoa Board and CPC to purchase chocolate and other cocoa products to celebrate the day. 

He said as part of the celebration, the CPC, in collaboration with the Ghana Tourism Authority would mount stands at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park where cocoa beverages would be served to visitors.
