Speaking on Onua FM’s show on Friday, February 7, 2025, famous media personality, Yaa Brefo has shared a report she received from the senior staff at State Insurance Corporation(SIC). Yaa Brefo claims that, according to the reports or letters she received from the senior staff, the new SIC managing director appointed by John Dramani Mahama, James Agyenim Boateng, has dissolved the current board which is supposed to introduce him as the new Managing Director of the State Insurance Corporation(SIC). Accepting to Yaa Brefo, the government is only a 40% stakeholder hence even if a new Managing Director is to be appointed, the consent of other stakeholders must be seeked. This is why the former SIC managing director, Hollister Duah has refused to leave the office as the Managing Director and escalated the case to the court.
‘The government is only a 40% stakeholder in SIC so how come you(James Agyenim Boateng) went and dissolve the board? Per the reports by the senior staff, you were not even introduced to the board but you just had a meeting with them once and after the meeting you dissolved the board. This should not be done because other stakeholders must be aware of anyone the government is appointing to be a new Managing Director of SIC’, Yaa Brefo tells James Agyenim Boateng.
According to Yaa Brefo, the 40% shares the government has makes government the largest stakeholder in SIC but it does not give James Agyenim Boateng that right to just walk into an office and dissolve a board.
