Elsie Addo Awadzi, the Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), has announced her retirement from the Central Bank, effective February 28, 2025.
The announcement was confirmed in a statement issued by the Presidency on Friday, February 7, 2025.
President John Dramani Mahama accepted Awadzi’s decision to take early retirement and expressed his gratitude for her distinguished service to the Bank of Ghana and the Republic.
He commended her contributions to the nation’s financial sector and wished her success in her future endeavors.
“The President thanks Mrs. Elsie Addo Awadzi for her distinguished service to the Bank and the Republic and wishes her well in her future endeavors,” the statement read.
Mrs. Awadzi’s tenure at the Bank of Ghana was marked by significant achievements in monetary policy, financial stability, and economic governance.
