Effective February 5, 2025, the National Service Authority (NSA) will adopt a cashless payment system via GHANA.GOV, the government’s digital revenue collection platform.
According to the NSA, this shift aims to enhance transparency, convenience, and accessibility in financial transactions with the agency.
In a statement released on February 5, 2025, the NSA announced that all payments, including the 20% and 10% administrative service charges, must now be digitally processed.
“This shift to digital payments offers greater transparency, convenience, and accessibility for those working with the NSA,” the statement read.
The GHANA.GOV platform provides multiple payment options, including:
• Debit and credit cards
• Mobile money
• Online banking
• QR code payments
• Direct transfers
SWIFT for international transactions
ACH transfers
The NSA has therefore directed all user agencies and stakeholders to refrain from making manual payments at district, regional, and headquarters offices, emphasising that the old payment method is no longer in use.
“Henceforth, all entities must cease manual payments to any NSA staff… as this method of payment is no longer valid.”
The statement further urged stakeholders to embrace the digital payment system, aligning with the government’s broader goal of establishing a cashless economy.
