The H4P (Here For Perfection) Organisation’s Ability Praise Concert (APC) truly was an event that brought together music, advocacy and a sense of unity that lived up to its vision of showcasing ability in disability.
Held in Fire City Chapel, the unforgettable musical concert was more than just an artistic showcase; it was a reminder of the importance of inclusion, accessibility and the recognition of people with disabilities as valuable contributors to society.
The spotlight of APC was undeniably on the performers, all of whom were talented PWDs. Each brought a unique, powerful energy to the stage, captivating the audience with their passion, creativity, and professionalism. The concert featured a range of musical performances, from spirit-filled Worship tunes to electrifying rhythms.
The incredible line-up of artists included Dave Lai, Douglas Makafui, Ismael the Worshipper, Lawrence Abban, MP Nation and Uncle Ato (Reverend Ehraphras Ato Forson) showcased their extraordinary talent, demonstrating that disability is no barrier to greatness in the arts.
The Special Guests of Honour for the night were Dr. Peter Obeng-Asamoa, the Executive Director of Ghana Blind Union and Mr. Alexander Tetteh, the Executive Director, of the Center for Employment for PWDs. Dr. Obeng-Asamoa expressed his excitement for APC and commended Bishop Dr Charles Cofie Hackman, founder and CEO of the H4P Organization for creating an incredible platform for PWDs in the Creative Arts and Entertainment industry.
Mr. Tetteh added that APC is an incredible advocacy tool to showcase ability, potential and talent. APC served as a reminder that advocacy through the arts can bridge gaps, create awareness and foster acceptance.
The night was graced with representatives from the Disability Community of Ghana – National Council on PWD, Ghana Federation of Disability Organisations, Ghana Blind Union, Ghana National Association of Persons with Albinism, Centre of Disability Studies and Advocacy, University of Ghana amongst others.
For the attendees, the evening was an emotional one filled with joy, pride and deep reflection. It was a night where the audience not only enjoyed world-class performances but also gained a deeper understanding of the importance of inclusivity in the arts and beyond.
As the night came to a close, the sense of unity, joy and hope was palpable. The performances had left a lasting impact on the attendees, but even more so, the concert reinforced the vital message of inclusion, showing that with determination, talent, and a little help from the community, anything is possible.
The 4th Edition of APC which forms part of H4P 14th Anniversary celebrations, marked a milestone in their mission to create a more inclusive society. The H4P Organisation’s work through its diverse programs and projects over the past decade cuts across sectors, including healthcare, media, advocacy, sports, arts and entertainment, education, vocational training, healthcare support, and advocacy.
