Ghanaian actress and media personality Xandy Kamel has shared her frustrating experience working at Angel TV, describing it as a period of disrespect and unfair treatment. Speaking in an interview with Zionfelix on February 3, 2025, she expressed disappointment over how she was treated despite her dedication to the company.
According to Kamel, she was unexpectedly laid off without a clear explanation after a management change. She recalled an incident where she had to protect the company’s reputation by intervening in a situation that could have caused serious damage. “Someone had damaging evidence about the owner of Angel TV, and I had to go behind the scenes and plead with him to delete it,” she revealed. Despite this, she was blindsided by the sudden decision to remove her from her role. “To wake up one morning only to hear that there had been a change in management and I should stay home until further notice was heartbreaking.”
She further explained that since being asked to stay home, she has remained unemployed for three years, receiving only a few salary payments that stopped after a short while. “They only paid us when I called to ask about my return, but even then, salaries came for about three months and then stopped. I couldn’t keep calling them about it.”
Kamel also revealed that although she was originally hired as a show host, she ended up hosting three different programs without ever asking for a salary increase. She was earning GH¢2,000, an amount she felt was inadequate given her workload. “I did all these things for peanuts,” she lamented.
