Restructure Black Stars’ bonus system – Kudjoe Fianoo tells Sports Minister-designate Kofi Adams

Former Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) chairman, Kudjoe Fianoo, has called on Sports Minister-designate Kofi Adams to address the long-standing issue of player bonuses in the Black Stars.

Speaking on Sporty FM, Fianoo emphasized the need for a fair and transparent bonus structure, urging the new minister to take immediate action.

“I want the new Sports Minister [Kofi Adams] to handle this issue of co-efficient,” he stated.

“He must restructure the bonus structure of the Black Stars.”

Kofi Adams has not shared how he intends to address player bonuses at the Black Stars but disclosed in a previous interview that the Sports Ministery under his leadership will not be a passive financier for the Black Stars.

“If the state is paying the coach’s salary, the state should have a say in the decision,” he declared in an interview with Accra-based Sporty FM.

“If there was no consultation, then there is room for review. I’ve already had a respectful engagement with the GFA President and once I’m officially appointed, this matter will be discussed,” he said.

The Sports Minister-designate has under a successful vetting and is currently awaiting his approval to officially assume office.
