Joseph Bukari Nikpe, the Minister-designate for Transport, has pledged to deploy electronic buses procured by the previous Akufo-Addo administration to improve public transportation.
Speaking during his vetting by the Appointments Committee of Parliament on January 30, Mr Nikpe emphasized the need to assess the suitability of the buses for Ghana’s transport conditions.
“We will put them into use, assess them, and see whether they are suitable for our conditions. If they fit our conditions, why not continue to enrol them in our transport sector?”
The introduction of electronic buses was aimed at reducing transport fares and modernizing the public transport system.
