Meet the university graduate helping to prevent accidents in Ghana

After completing his education at the University of Education, Winneba, and serving his mandatory national service, Richard became deeply motivated to make a difference, particularly after his mother was involved in a road accident.

This personal experience sparked the creation of ‘GH-SIGNBOARD’, an initiative aimed at improving road safety and preventing accidents in Ghana.

Richard’s project focuses on the removal of obstructive stickers and posters from road signs across Accra, which often hinder the visibility of crucial traffic information.

His daily routine involves cleaning signposts and fixing broken ones, ensuring that drivers and pedestrians alike can navigate safely without distractions.

Through GH-SIGNBOARD, Richard hopes to create a safer environment for all road users, raising awareness about the importance of clear road signage and the role it plays in accident prevention.

Join us on ‘Everyday People’ on GhanaWeb TV as we delve deeper into Richard’s inspiring project and the positive impact he is making in his community.
