President John Dramani Mahama has called on newly sworn-in ministers to prioritize humility and sincerity in their service to the people of Ghana.
Addressing six ministerial nominees during their swearing-in ceremony on January 22, Mahama emphasized the importance of respecting the electorate’s power and expectations.
“Ghanaians have shown that the days of tolerance from disrespectful gaslighting by government officials are well and truly over.
“They will take firm actions when they deem fit to punish any administration that takes them for granted,” Mahama stated. His words underscored the growing political awareness among Ghanaians, who are increasingly holding leaders accountable for their actions.
The president reminded the ministers of the critical responsibility they bear, urging them to embrace their roles with humility and candour.
“I, therefore, charge you to always serve in humility and candour, always remembering that we serve at the pleasure of the Ghanaian people and that the authority we exercise emanates from them.
“We must exhibit tolerance for their views and work to meet their aspirations,” he added.
The six ministers, who had undergone rigorous parliamentary vetting before their approval, represent a diverse range of portfolios critical to the nation’s progress.
