Ahmed Ibrahim’s nomination as a Minister-designate is source of pride, inspiration-Banda Youth

Banda-Ahenkro (B/R), Jan. 20, GNA – Youth groups in the Banda District of the Bono Region have described Mr Ahmed Ibrahim’s nomination as the Minister-designate for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs as ‘a source of pride and inspiration’ for the Banda people.

They expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for the nomination of Mr Ibrahim, also the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Banda Constituency, hoping to seechanges and transformation in the local government systems and structures.

Addressing a news conference at Banda-Ahenkro, Mr Jerry Sito, the Spokesperson for the Youth Groups, and the Assembly Member of Banda- Ahenkro West Electoral Area, said the youth in the area had high hopes and confidence in the MP to impact positively in the ministry by shaping policies that would impact millions of lives.

“As our MP embarks on a new chapter, our people are confident that he will continue to make significant contributions to the development of the local communities and the nation by extension”, he stated.

He said the youth were highly convinced and optimistic that with his strength, resilience, wisdom, exuberance, determination and parliamentary and political experiences, the minister-designate would be in the position to tackle all emerging challenges at the ministry.

“In fact, his nomination and political successes challenges and inspires some of us to pursue high excellence in our life careers,” Mr Sito stated.

Nana Pe-Aboatea II, the Baamuhene (sub-chief) of and the Acting President of the Banda Traditional Council, also expressed the people’s appreciation to the President for “recognizing a Banda citizen as a Minister of State and thereby setting a significant milestone in the area”.

He urged the Minister-designate to continue to serve the nation in diligence and humility and entreated him to always seek advice and collaborate with stakeholders when necessary to enable him to deliver his mandate successfully and thereby leave an indelible mark in the ministry.

Nana Pe-Aboatea II appealed to the President to tackle the perennial water problem in the area, improve access roads and upgrade the Banda Health Centre to a District status.
