President John Dramani Mahama is expected to submit the final list of his ministerial nominations and appointments to the Speaker of Parliament on Monday, January 22, 2025, GhanaWeb has learnt.

This submission fulfills the president’s commitment to naming his full slate of ministers within 14 days of being sworn into office on January 7, 2025.

Additionally, the Office of the President has urged the general public to disregard what it described as fake lists circulating on social media.

It has further pledged to streamline governance by limiting the number of ministers to no more than 60, as part of efforts to promote efficiency and reduce government expenditure.

Key ministries expected to feature in the final batch of appointments include Defence, Interior, Environment, Health, and Labour.

The list will also include six Regional Ministers, completing the leadership structure at both the national and regional levels.

In recent days, the Office of the President has released several nominees for ministers of state, regional ministers, and CEOs of state corporations and institutions.

During his inauguration ceremony on January 7, 2025, President Mahama reiterated his administration’s commitment to delivering on its promises of transparency, efficiency, and accountability.

He emphasised that the appointments in his government are designed to align with these principles while addressing the nation’s development challenges.
