The Damongo Constituency and the Savannah Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been plunged into mourning following the passing of Alhaji Emmanuel Darison Baba, a former Constituency Chairman and esteemed elder of the party.
Announcing his death, Samuel Abu Jinapor said Alhaji Emmanuel Darison passed away on January 15, 2025, in Damongo at the age of 83. A retired Agricultural Extension Officer, he dedicated many years to the development of the region and nation. His tenure as NPP Constituency Chairman from 2005 to 2009 was marked by significant efforts to boost the party’s presence and influence in the Damongo Constituency and the Savannah Region.
Addition to his role as Chairman, Alhaji Emmanuel Darison served as a member of the Constituency Council of Elders and later the Regional Council of Elders, earning respect for his dedication and patriotism. Until his death, he remained a commited member of the party and a source of guidance and inspiration to all.
Samuel A. Jinapor described Alhaji Emmanuel Darison as a staunch patriot and a revered elder who left an indelible mark on the party and the nation. His passing is a great loss not only to his family but also to the NPP and the Damongo community at a whole.
Alhaji Emmanuel Darison was a father, grandfather and a great-grandfather whose legacy as a family man and community leader will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Samuel A. Jinapor in a post expressed his condolences to the bereaved family during this difficult time, praying for the Almighty Allah to grant his soul eternal rest in the bosom of the Almighty until the day of resurrection.
