Residents in Ho and nearby communities in the Volta Region are still grappling with a severe water crisis as supply disruptions enter their third week.
The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has attributed the prolonged shortage to a setback in emergency repairs at the Kpeve Headworks, where the system broke down again just days after being fixed.
GWCL is, however, assuring residents that efforts are underway to address the issue and restore water supply promptly.
Wisdom Semevor, the Volta Regional Commercial Manager for the GWCL stated: “You know we are working with a machine… and for now it is being worked on. But definitely we have to get a new one as a long-term measure,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the situation is disrupting daily activities, with affected residents stating that it is impacting their financial lives.
