Report unlawful attack on state institutions to police

The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore has called on party supporters to assist in identifying and apprehending individuals suspected of infiltrating government institutions under the guise of being party sympathisers.

He urged them to report any unlawful activities to the appropriate authorities.

This follows media reports alleging that some NDC supporters stormed the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority and Volta Aluminium Company (VALCO) earlier on Wednesday morning.

Speaking to Citi News, Ashie Moore denied reports of similar incidents at Kotoka International Airport and revealed that he had met with the regional police commander to discuss measures for restoring law and order within 24 hours.

“Let me use this opportunity to encourage members of our party in this region to be vigilant. They should rather report such unlawful activities to me as the regional chairman or to the appropriate authorities including the regional police commander for the appropriate action to be taken”

“I have had a meeting with the regional police commander and his team, and we have all agreed that they are now going to make sure that they will protect state establishments and institutions. So I can promise you that within 24 hours, law and order will be established.”
