Renowned Ghanaian preacher, Rev. Obofour has publicly criticised Metro TV journalist and host of Good Evening Ghana show, Paul Adom-Otchere, over an incident dating back to 2017. In a fiery statement, Rev. Obofour accused the journalist of giving his platform to a fellow pastor, who allegedly made false claims about him on live TV.
The controversy stems from a past episode of one ‘Good Evening Ghana’ programme during which the guest pastor allegedly claimed that Rev Obofour had sought spiritual powers from Faade for his opulence. Obofour has expressed disappointment with Paul Adom Otchere, accusing him of allowing these defamatory remarks to air on his show.
“They disgraced me because I stood in a Rolls Royce” Rev Obofour stated, suggesting that political motivations were behind the alleged smear campaign. He further implied that Paul Adom-Otchere’s actions were influenced by his political affiliation to the New Patriotic Party, saying”he claimed bis government was in power.”
In his response, Rev Obofour warned Adom Otchere, stating strongly that “if you touch me and I don’t mind you, it means i consider you irrelevant. If Paul Adom Otchere doesn’t understand that I have mentioned his name, he should bring it on. If he replies, I will also reply him.”
The video of rev. Obofour’s response has gained traction across social media platforms, adding fuel to ongoing feud between the outgoing clergy man and the controversial journalist.
