The inaugural African Music Week (AMW) Accra, set to take place on December 27, 2024, at the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) Conference Room, will bring together industry leaders, artistes, and policymakers from across the globe to spotlight the best of Ghana’s thriving music scene.

Featured speakers at this historic event include Bola Ray, CEO of EIB Network Ltd; Yoofi Grant, CEO of GIPC; Ruddy Kwakye, Founder & CEO of The Rave Group; and Khadijat El-Alawa, CEO of The Continent Live/Universal Music Sync & Brands.

These distinguished leaders will explore topics such as music tourism, economic growth, and cultural exchange, emphasizing Ghana’s potential as a hub for global music collaborations.

With the theme “Bridging Continents Through Music and Culture,” AMW Accra aims to foster connections between African and diaspora artists and international audiences. The event will create opportunities for collaboration, showcasing the vast potential of the African music industry while reinforcing Ghana’s growing reputation as a global cultural hub.

A star-studded lineup featuring Ghana’s brightest talents, including Trigmatic, Bugatti Bonsu, and Feli Nuna, alongside emerging artists from Canada and beyond, will perform at the event. In addition, stakeholder engagements, open-house networking sessions, and music business stands will allow artists to connect with industry executives, investors, and fans.

AMW Accra builds on the success of its Toronto edition, offering a platform for African artists to expand their reach and access untapped markets. The event is strategically timed during Ghana’s “Year of Return” festivities, ensuring maximum exposure for both local and international audiences.

The event, scheduled for 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM, is more than just about music—it reflects a deeper mission to bridge continents, cultures, and industries through the universal language of music. AMW Accra seeks to create long-term partnerships between African and international music markets, contributing to a more inclusive and dynamic global music ecosystem. This launch serves as the countdown to the 2025 African Music Week Festival, marking the beginning of a major cultural and economic initiative for Ghana and the African music industry.

As Ghana continues to emerge as a cultural powerhouse with its vibrant festivals and creative industries, AMW Accra aims to position the country as a nexus for music tourism and global collaborations. By tapping into the country’s unique blend of tradition and innovation, AMW Accra offers a platform for Ghanaian artists to connect with diaspora communities and unlock new opportunities in the global music market.
