The year 2024 witnessed a plethora of music releases across various genres, with Afrobeat, Highlife, Hiplife, and Hip Hop dominating the Ghanaian music scene.
Several artists stood out with hits that resonated deeply with audiences. Their achievements during the year are highlighted below.
- Lomo Lomo – KiDi ft. Black Sherif
KiDi released this collaboration with Black Sherif in August 2024. “Lomo Lomo,” originally written by rising Afrobeat star Kojo Blak and produced by UglyandTough, peaked at number one on the Apple Music Ghana Top 100 chart. Black Sherif earned significant praise for his impactful verse. “Lomo Lomo” also became Ghana’s most Shazammed song in August 2024.
- Zormizor – DopeNation
“Zormizor” captivated audiences of all ages. This track permeated both traditional and social media, remaining at the top of the charts and a popular refrain among children and adults for months. “Zormizor” reached number four on Ghana’s Shazam chart.
- Very Soon – Fameye
A quintessential December anthem, Fameye created a massive hit while in Atlanta. The song conveys hope for a brighter future, encouraging those striving in any endeavor. Fameye had audiences singing along word-for-word at every concert. “Very Soon” peaked at number one on Apple Music in October 2024.

- Kwen Kwen – Nacce
While politically motivated, the song’s impact on streaming platforms is undeniable. “Kwen Kwen” reached number one on Apple Music in December 2024. Credit goes to Nacce for creating such a publicly appealing song despite its political association.
- Makoma – King Paluta
With the tagline “King Paluta Singing,” he delivered. King Paluta has been consistently releasing commercially successful hits since 2023. “Makoma” achieved high acclaim this year, from performances at political campaigns to chart success. It surpassed one million streams on Audiomack and peaked at number one on YouTube, Apple Music, and Shazam in July 2024.
These songs garnered significant public attention and showcased the strength of Ghanaian music. There is high anticipation for upcoming projects promised by artists such as Black Sherif, Medikal, and KiDi in 2025.
