Host of the popular “Good Evening Ghana” show on Metro TV, Paul Adom Otchere, has publicly apologized to Mussa Dankwah, founder of Global InfoAnalytics, for dismissing his election prediction. The apology was made during Tuesday evening’s episode of the show.
Earlier this year, Global InfoAnalytics conducted a survey that accurately predicted former President John Mahama’s victory in the elections. However, Paul Adom Otchere had criticized the prediction, questioning the credibility of the survey and describing it as baseless. On his show, he dismissed the analysis as “fake” and argued that it lacked merit.
When the election results were announced and aligned closely with Global InfoAnalytics’ predictions, videos of Paul Adom Otchere’s initial criticism began circulating widely.
Addressing the issue during his show, Paul Adom Otchere expressed regret for his comments.
“I have received numerous text messages from people, and everyone has shared the video of me criticizing Musa Dankwa’s analysis. It has been shared everywhere, and I have received my fair share of the backlash,” he admitted.
He went on to sincerely apologize, acknowledging the accuracy of the prediction and the professionalism of Global InfoAnalytics.
“It is now my turn to say that I sincerely apologize to Mussa Dankwah for being critical of his analysis, which has turned out to be spot on. Global InfoAnalytics, the company he founded, predicted the elections right. Many people, including myself, didn’t see this coming. They even got the percentages correct. We ridiculed them in the studio because it wasn’t an outcome we thought possible. We apologize for that, we withdraw the ridicule, and we salute you,” he said.
Mussa Dankwah and his team at Global InfoAnalytics have gained widespread respect for their data-driven approach to election forecasting.
